How many times have you heard that you should think more positively?
We’ve all heard that we can make changes and improve our lives in so many ways just by changing how we think.
Well, we absolutely can! It really does work. But how exactly do we do it?
Most of us will make the effort to think more positively or use affirmations but after a few days we just forget about it or give up. Especially if we don’t see the changes we want right away.
The reason we give up is because it’s not easy to just change the way we think. It took us a lifetime to shape our own unique patterns of thinking, so changing those thought patterns is going to take some effort.
However, if there’s a technique or a method or a program to follow, it’s much easier.
That’s one of the reasons why my Quit Smoking Coaching program works so well. I use a method to change my clients thought patterns around smoking in order to help them quit easily.
And by using a proven technique or method, it helps us not only stick to it, but it takes the guesswork out of how to change your thoughts as well.
There are lots of psychotherapeutic methods and techniques that are available, all of which serve to modify our thoughts, feelings and our behaviors in order to create change.
When I created my program I developed my own techniques that are based on various forms of psychotherapy such as, cognitive behavior modification, aversion therapy, and modern coaching methods too.
The way these techniques work all boils down to how we think….
You see,
-our thoughts create our feelings
-our feelings drive our actions and behaviors, and then
-our actions and behaviors reinforce those feelings and thoughts
So it makes sense that by changing the way we think about something, it will also change the way we feel and behave. And our actions will change too.
Now my program uses these techniques for smoking cessation, but obviously, they can also be used to make practically any change you want. Whether its losing weight, improving your confidence or having a better relationship with someone.
These techniques are so effective that I have a 94% success rate helping lifetime smokers quit for good.
So, now that we know how much more effective it is to follow a method if we want to change the way we think, in my following blog posts I’m going to share with you some of the techniques I use so that you can change your thought patterns to make positive changes in your life too.
